Another study showed that about 50% of men and women aged 50-60 years old were still interested in having sex daily or at least once a week. However, only 4 in 10 were actually able to experience sexual intercourse that often.

These studies indicate that sexuality appears to drastically decrease once you reach your sixth decade.

Factors That Affect Sexuality Among Older People

You may have noticed it in yourself. How young people enjoy their sexuality differs in so many ways as compared to how older adults enjoy their sexuality.

Your body is no longer the same when you’re already 60 or 70 years old. And your physical condition definitely affects how you perform sexually. Some men are hindered by low energy levels and strength, which means they can no longer engage in sex as intensely as they used to.
