10 Things to Do Once the Lockdown is Lifted

The ongoing health crisis is a huge blow to the country’s economy and way of life. Millions of Americans are asked to stay at home, and thousands of businesses are forced to ride out the crisis until we get a grip on the situation.

While everything around us looks grim at the moment, one thing is for sure – we are eventually getting out of this soon. The whole world is coming together to find a cure and a vaccine, and while there’s still a long way to go before that happens, it gives us not just hope, but a certainty that all that’s happening now will be over soon.

Here are 10 things to do once the lockdown is lifted:

1. Get your health supplies

Even with the lockdown lifted, everything and everyone around you is still a significant health risk.

According to experts, the virus may linger in our communities, and we’re likely to have another resurgence of the virus when the cold season comes. People are likely to stock up on health essentials too, so be one of the first to get your supplies.

DON’T HOARD.

Even with the virus at its peak, the country has proven that the supply chain is intact. You can stock what you need for two weeks, and rest assured, something will be available once you need to restock your shelves.

Don’t stock up on non-essentials like toilet paper, but get sanitizers, disinfectants, face masks, and gloves. Shore up on your immune-boosters like vitamins and supplements to protect your health.

2. Visit your friends and family

The ongoing stay-at-home orders may last for more than a month, and you’d certainly want to meet up with your loved ones once the order is lifted. Just make sure that you wear protective gear, and ask your loved ones to do the same.

Knowing that your loved ones are safe takes a huge load off of your mind, and it could alleviate the stress you’ve been feeling in isolation.

3. Visit your gym

Go visit your gym, check your membership, get your gym buddies back working out, and you’ll be back on track in no time.

4. Get a haircut

Being in isolation, your hair would be a mess by the quarantine is over, and your favorite barbershop or salon would have a long waiting line once the quarantine is over.

Getting a haircut after such a long time in isolation could feel extremely refreshing. It might not be one of your priorities once you’re free to go out, but it’s one thing you know you want done right after the quarantine is lifted.

5. Eat out

You’re probably sick of microwaved food and your own cooking skills by now, and one of the first things you can do once the quarantine is lifted is to go to your favorite restaurant and eat food that satisfies you.

By the time the quarantine is lifted, there should be a level of safety already in place for everyone to resume their lives, so eating at your favorite restaurant shouldn’t be a problem.

6. Go for a run

It’s been a while since you’ve tracked the path that you usually jogged on, and it would be nice to get in touch with nature again once the quarantine is lifted. Not only will running give your heart a workout, but it will also give you a chance to work your legs a bit.

7. Go out with friends

No one wants to be isolated, and this long isolation will want you to enjoy time with your friends again.

Go pub crawling, watch movies, go on dates – these are things you used to enjoy and take for granted, and the long isolation you’ve just endured will certainly give you a whole new appreciation for the simple pleasures in life.

8. Take your dog for a walk

walking his dogThe lockdown isn’t just hard on you – it’s also hard for your pets. Dogs love walks, and it’s been a while since they have seen the sights they look forward to all day.

Boredom can lead to destructive behavior in dogs, and leaving one crucial part of their daily routine could mess up their training.

9. Get on a diet

The quarantine has severely limited the variety of food you eat, and that could lead to unhealthy eating habits. Once the quarantine is lifted, it would be the perfect time to start a diet that will help you get back in shape.

10. Get back on supplements

Not everyone has the luxury to keep up with their supplements during the time of crisis. Once the crisis is over, you can start getting back on the supplements you’ve missed while you were in isolation.

Most supplements are designed to work over time, so if you’ve missed out on your supplements for a while, it would be smart to get back on your supplements as soon as you can once the quarantine is lifted.
