One of the most consumed beverages in the world, coffee is known not just as a pick-me-up, but also as a drink that’s full of antioxidants. Due to its rich antioxidant content, coffee has been shown to help protect you against diabetes, liver diseases, heart diseases, and even cancer.

On top of being good for your overall health, coffee may also have positive effects on your sexual health. If you’re worried that you may become impotent because you drink coffee too much, read on and find out about the effects of coffee on your erectile function.

Coffee is Incredibly Rich in Antioxidants

There are actually several types of antioxidants found in coffee, but their concentration and level of antioxidant capacity differ based on the bean used, where it was grown, and the roasting process.

Known as a rich source of polyphenolic and flavonoid antioxidants, coffee contains caffeic acid, ferulic acid, and chlorogenic acid. In fact, researchers are saying that coffee is the top dietary source of antioxidants for Americans. Just 10 grams of roasted coffee beans can already yield 15 to more than 300 mg of chlorogenic acid.

Ferulic acid is one of the stronger antioxidants found in coffee. It has been shown to have antibacterial, antiviral, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, as well as antiplatelet effects. Ferulic acid also contributes to the cardioprotective effects of coffee. This potent antioxidant has been found to reduce arrhythmia or irregular heartbeat.

Antioxidants are Great for Improving Erectile Function

Antioxidants are good for fighting aging and many other problematic health diseases. Although that’s true, anti-aging effects are not the only benefits you can get from antioxidants. These healthful compounds also help your body fight inflammation, and they have other various beneficial effects like keeping your blood vessels healthy.

In fact, flavonoid antioxidants are known to greatly improve endothelial function and reduce high blood pressure. Your endothelium serves as the inner lining of your blood vessels and it’s crucial for optimum blood flow.

This is important because chronic high blood pressure and endothelial dysfunction both contribute to erectile dysfunction. In fact, arteriogenic erectile dysfunction is highly prevalent. This type of impotence occurs when your erection troubles are caused by unhealthy arteries and restricted penile blood flow.

When your endothelial function is poor, your arteries stiffen, and they can get clogged with plaque when you have atherosclerosis. As a result, you’ll have a significantly restricted penile blood flow during sexual stimulation. This means your penis won’t get sufficiently filled with blood. Your erection will be soft and weak, if you can even achieve a hard-on at all.

In short, flavonoid antioxidants help prevent erectile dysfunction by keeping your blood vessels healthy and ensuring sufficient penile blood flow. So, it’s definitely a good thing that coffee is incredibly rich in flavonoids and other polyphenolic antioxidants.

Coffee Can Help Lower Your Risks of Impotence

In a recent study conducted by researchers from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the authors found that when you consume at least 50 mg of flavonoids every day from flavonoid-rich foods such as fruits, tea, and coffee, it can lower your risks of erectile dysfunction by as much as 32%.

This study is particularly interesting because the participants were men who were only 18 to 40 years of age. And yet, 86 of these participants already had erectile dysfunction, compared to 264 men who did not have the condition. This means one in four men were already impotent at such a young age.

In another study, the researchers found that a caffeine intake of 85-303 mg/day, equivalent to 2-3 cups of coffee daily, can significantly reduce your odds of developing erectile dysfunction.

The authors noted that this beneficial effect of coffee on erectile function was observed among men who were hypertensive, overweight, or obese, but not among those who were suffering from diabetes.

Getting Rid of Erectile Dysfunction Through Natural Means

Unfortunately, not everyone drinks coffee which means not all men are able to enjoy the protective effects of coffee against erectile dysfunction. Not to worry, though, because there are other equally healthy ways to ward off impotence.

tongkat ali

Tongkat Ali, for instance, is highly recognized for its numerous health benefits. This Southeast Asian herb is also rich in antioxidants such as quassinoids, alkaloids, coumarins triterpenes, and flavonoids. Of these bioactive compounds, the quassinoids eurycomanone and eyrycomanol are the most abundant.

The testosterone-boosting, aphrodisiac, and erection-enhancing effects of Tongkat Ali are largely attributed to eurycomanone. This bioactive compound is also responsible for the pro-fertility properties of the herb.

In fact, because Tongkat Ali has a high antioxidant content and it improves sperm count, sperm motility, and semen volume, the herb is highly recommended to men suffering from idiopathic infertility.

Just like Tongkat Ali, puncture vine or Tribulus terrestris is also widely recognized as an antioxidant-rich herb. It contains steroidal saponins, tannins, alkaloids, glycosides, and flavonoids, all of which contribute to the healthful properties of the herb.

The fruits and seeds of Tribulus terrestris are actually rich in essential oil and nitrates, which account for the plant’s diuretic effects. This is why the herb is beneficial against kidney stones, as well as for keeping the urinary tract healthy.

Because of its diuretic effects, Tribulus terrestris is also helpful in preventing high blood pressure or hypertension. The positive effects of Tribulus terrestris on nitric oxide production may also be due to its high nitrates content. On the one hand, the testosterone-boosting effects of the herb are largely attributed to its steroidal saponin content.

Tongkat Ali and Tribulus terrestris are just two of the many therapeutic herbs that are rich in antioxidants and are known to help improve erectile function. Ashwagandha, Horny Goat Weed, and maca also have strong antioxidant and pro-sexual properties. These five amazing herbs, plus many others, are all contained in Male UltraCore.
